Healbot VS Dervish - The Sequel!

Filed under: Comics & Games — labsenpai @ 1:07 pm

Sometimes even a mini-monk isn’t stupid enough to walk through the front door…

I don’t play a Derv or use Melonni so I tend to bypass those Avatar strongholds (all conveniently within the same area for elite capturing…can they make that class any easier for people?)

  1. As a Factions player (just beat it yesterday!! ^_^) I’ve never worked a dervish either. They seem a lot stronger than warriors most of the time and I hear they make excellent subsitute tanks.

  2. I play a Dervish the majority of the time and generally able to survive with minimal healing, I swear they can be a monks best friend since they only usually need to be healed with Dwaynays (That isn’t spelled correctly…) Kiss since most Dervish builds are enchant heavy. I usually run with 4 enchants 3 attack skills and one of the 5 avatars, usually Balthazar for the armor bonus. (12 pips of healing for the win!) With 4 pips of energy regeneration and 4 energy back when an enchant ends with 12 mysticism, they can keep up a wide variety of enchantments and self healing skills. The ability to hit three monsters per swing and gain 24 health per hit and 1 energy when wielding a zealous scythe and using mystic vigor is just an added bonus.

  3. hehe… ive never entirely liked alot of the dervish avatars… but the benefits of using them are there… my melonni usually runs around with the avatar of grenth to remove pesky enchants so that my smites hurt more :D

  4. Having a Derv on your team is fine, since they benefit from stacked enchants. Although, I rarely see them return the favor by bringing those “heal teammate” skills. However, as the name of the strip makes plain, I don’t enjoy having to face them in combat. Even if I can survive, the energy healing me isn’t healing my team. Oh, and Tahlkora…she just runs away from anything painful.

  5. A little while ago I went and got most of the Avatars on my Dervish. The only hard part was getting my Heroes and Henchmen to ignore the Bowmen that were shooting at them. Either than that, you can just pull the Acolytes from the fort. Yay for Koss and his hair, they make great pulling tools!

  6. Well, everyone just said it… Pack a necro with desecrate/rend/rip enchantments etc, or mesmer with shatter/drain enchantments etc, and there you go… ;) Alternatively, since this is a PvE situation, take down a soft target first, flag henchies all around the corpse and use Well of the Profane. ^^

I usually don’t have to resort to these to take down Dervishes, though. Heh. Searing Flames is beautiful.
