New comic today!

Unfortunately, Healbot’s desire to have a “hunt trophy” or “useful unique” hasn’t been fulfilled yet. I haven’t seen any new green items drop, or garnered enough title points to buy the new gear. I did unlock the “consumables” merchant, who sells some interesting items. A perfect salvage kit would remove one headache from the game…

Since I’ve been focusing on the storyline, I only have one entry in my Dungeon guidebook. These subterranean romps are pretty fun, as long as you pack the right skills and don’t have miserable lag. I appreciate that the mission wasn’t as brutal as Urgoz, or as lengthy as the Underworld. Of course, bonus treasure chests are always keen! Hard to believe that only a decade ago dungeons were simple overhead views of tiled boxes…

EOTN comic number three is now online! Remember, never fight alone and don’t click the wrong Ursan skill during battle.

In other news, I want to let fans within driving distance of northern Ohio know that I’ll be attending a game convention in Akron. It is a small event in November called Con on the Cob. No, I’m not making that up. Me and my Mountain Dew will be there, drawing sketches for “suggested donation $s”.  I’ll try to post details when I know more about the schedule.

Honestly, most of the special collectibles for EoTN are beyond the reach of a casual, non-farming player. Unless you arrived at Boreal Station with more gold than Emperor Kisu and overflowing craft storage, all the sparkly-shinys will be a soul-crushing distance away. I’m well aware that my anti-grind preference places me in a minority, given the “rules of acquisition” that took over when title farming erupted in PvE. I’m just a little dismayed that even the NPCs will snub you if your ranks are too low.

Now back with true Healbot flavor and spice! Gwen may have her mighty Vanguard, but nothing can withstand Fairebuckle’s optimism or Cynn’s flames (of jealousy)! The prologue strips can be viewed for those that may have missed them…

The major site refurb I had talked about before will be delayed till the gallery is complete at the end of the year.

Potential spoilers ahead…

I hoped Nightfall was the last time I was going to have to endure missions with “substituted” skill bar requirements. As a healer leading a hero/hench party most of the time, being obliged to morph into a critter is detrimental. Furthermore, the energy loss involved with changing back from the spirit form seems like overkill (to a caster). Honestly, a singular special skill (like the type received during the final Factions boss fight) is all that was needed. ONE Wolf skill for tracking, ONE Bear skill for barrier smashing, and ONE Raven skill to protect against knockdown. I’m certain that my team would’ve died numerous times if I had used the Raven form in the “Gate Too Far” dungeons. Healbot has to give the thumbs down on this element of the expansion.

Actually, she is holding off on Gwen’s Charr eradication plan to do the Norn quests instead. I believe Healbot has now recruited Jora and unlocked Xandra! Magni’s fighting tournament is a killer; even full Smitebot power wasn’t enough…had to borrow a few damage-enhancing fire skills. Perhaps a short break is in order to cap a Ritualist elite or two!

Hahaha! My name is Gwen. I’ve sent Healbot on a suicidal mission to rescue the Vanguard Captain.

Thusly, I’m taking control of her assets, including this mire of monk sympathy. Muwahaha!

Those Destroyers were hot on her slow heels, but she made it to the Eye! I haven’t really begun the primary quests, just outfitted Gwen and bought the new Monk skills. If you haven’t seen me in-game, my character names are hidden next to my older HB comic “signatures”.

GW:EN is sort of a birthday gift to myself; I can say that since my little celebration is this week. Swiss Cake Rolls for everybody!

As predicted, no delivery truck within sight this weekend. Don’t you hate seeing inactivity on your tracking number?
