Golems > Leeroys

Filed under: Comics & Games — labsenpai @ 6:29 pm

This strip reflected my mood after healbot-ing my way to the Central Transfer Chamber. Even though there were 2 additional monks, the melee stooges in my party seemed to be DESPERATE to reach maximum Death Penalty. In the end, all they were good for was running up to activate the Golems, which finished the dirty work. After sessions like that, I almost wish Anet would nerf Rebirth, just to free me from having to bring dolts back to life again, and again…

/WTT Koss for GOLEM 2.0!

  1. The golems will not save you by themselves. They eat 15 energy when they croak, not something monks can spare (I assume). Even with all 3 on Melee, keeping them and your party alive won’t happen. I firmly believe that you’re *supposed* to get through Destruction’s Depths with DP. And my ele has the deaths to prove it. >.>

  2. Pfft…15E compared to total energy drain from Rebirth? At least the golems hold their ground and don’t fall back on you with Destroyers in tow. They don’t ruin pulling attempts and they don’t blubber in team chat after croaking.
Only problem I’ve had with golems is the easy to accidentally click “Mode” window…

    HEALBOT ANGRY!!!^_^

  3. LOL, watch out or else the all mighty nerf bat might hit the golems when the time comes.

  4. Do YOU wanna run in there and recharge them, then? :P

And it sounds like you need a new guild…or fewer PUGs. ;)

  6. Indeed, this must’ve been punishment for taking a PuG instead of guildies. I can’t wag a finger at anyone I know. I would bet that my Healbot can survive longer than any tank with 60 DP. I always have candy canes to keep me healthy, and even an “armor” skill when I think I’ll need it.

  7. Consumables are a soloer’s best friend. Powerstones of Courage, in your case: DP? What DP? :)

I wouldn’t bother with consumables in a PuG, though; you never know just how badly a random noob or jerk will make you regret wasting it.

  8. Yeah. I remember giving someone a candy cane once in Tombs shortly after it became a PvE zone instead of a PvP one. Didn’t stop them from trying to steal my ecto (long story short, it dropped in an inconvenient location and then the party suffered a reversal, so it had unbound by the time we got to it - I’d let everyone know it was mine beforehand, though, so the rest of the party forced her to give it back before continuing) and then trying to grief the party instead of leaving gracefully when she ran out of time and had to leave.

  9. Hmmm, anyone else think that Golemancer will be one of those race spasific classes that the asura will have in GW2, or is that just me?

  10. I had hoped that “Summon Golem” would be a EotN Elementalist Elite or Asuran title track skill.

  11. Oh, same experience I had… too much destroyers and in the end the warriors just tried to “revive” the Golems :D

  12. You can summon them, but only in Riven Earth.
