Enter the New Management!

Filed under: Comics & Games — labsenpai @ 11:00 am

The announcement of personnel change isn’t new, but I had to wait on screencaps of Regina’s in-game character(s). Appearing in this bonus comic is her new Mesmer, listening to Healbot’s usual demands. I think I read that her lvl20 character was a Necro, a class I’d like to include in the comic. Besides, everyone knows that having two Mesmers in a group is just about statistically impossible :)

  1. Bison Tourny was pretty cool, kind of reminded me of ye olde doppleganger battle. One on one. No holds barred. Two men enter, one man leave.

Honestly, though? I was one of the many that just wussed out and spirit spammed my way through the first time. With an ele, no less :(

  2. Well, the “Bison” part gets mentioned because Healbot is asking for thinly disguised STREET FIGHTER moves.

In game, I only did enough of the tourney to get Xandra.

  3. Heh, seeing how “Holy Haste” turned out, those skills probably won’t be quite what you expected! :P

  4. Hehehehe, pretty nice indeed. Two almost unrelated comments:

    1) The first character I took to the Bison Tournament was my main character, a Ritualist - and I used spirit spamming before it became the well-known “easy” way it is today. It’s fun to be a Rit (by the way, the name I use in this comment is the name of my Rit in GW). :)

    2) Two mesmers in one team is indeed statistically impossible, or close to it. Actually, as far as GW goes, one mesmer in a PvE team (particularly a PUG) is also quite improbable.

    3) My main character is a Rit… my “runner-up” is a Mesmer. What can I say? Empathy and Backfire are way too fun to let go. ;)

  5. Two mesmer PRIMARY might be statistically improbable. But what about the odds of mesmer secondaries?
And the odds that they actually USE their mesmer secondary? My main is a Mo/Me, but 97.480372% of the time, I’ve got my standard heal/smite build loaded.

  6. Well, there are some well-known builds with a Mesmer secondary, of which the most famous is most likely the Echo Nuker. Nevertheless, just like a Mesmer primary, a Mesmer secondary is highly situational, and therefore not very common in PvE. I wonder how it is in PvP…

  7. Ah, but Tal, you know two of your guildies have Mesmer primaries as their primary characters, even if I do spread my attention around evenly enough that Aeron’s only JUST the primary.

I do like my Epidemic spamming, too, although that’s pretty light use of a /Me.

That said, the Mesmer does seem to be getting a bit more love with the buffbat rather than the nerfbat recently… Regina’s influence, maybe? :P

  8. Okay, Drax, you’re right that we’ve got multiple Mesmer primaries in the guild. But Watchman Lee’s point still stands. When was the last time we had multiple Mesmers running simultaneously? Disregarding difficulties in globalized schedule alignment.

  9. Ummmm I guess we are unique then?

Being a mesmer primary with my only non-mesmer skill generally being resurrection chant, I still like to add Gwen to our party while playing. Not to mention when my other mesmer guildmate is around and we dan dual mesmer FoW.

Seriously, dual mesmering can be LETHAL.

Also, I have no clue really why mesmer is supposed to be a bad PvE profession? Of all the characters I play, Jochy has the easiest time out there. I mean seriously! Who would ever want to play something else?

Fast casting has spoilt me forever…

  10. Last time I remember with them both being PCs was when we were out stealing spells from hydras.

Aeron’s been bringing Norgu along as backup a lot while hero/henching, though…

  11. *blows whistle* OK, back to your own guild forum, Healbot doesn’t want to know what you Mesmers do!

BTW, Regina said my comic is the lifeblood of the Anet office and that stacks of Ecto will drop for me.

    /lie mode off

  12. Oh, really, you should know by now that mocking Mesmers will get a gaggle of them coming to Overload you with Shame and Guilt at your Ignorance until the Accumulated Pain from all the Feedback gives you a Migraine that leads to an Aneurysm.

Don’t you? *flrrd from any and all pun-barrage-triggered retaliation*

  13. If having two mesmers in the same party is statistically impossible what is having eight mesmers in the same party called? Because that happens every saturday evening. :D

  14. Hey, none of you M.A.D.A.M. rabble-rousers better cause trouble! I have Smite Hex!
